Specialist well data services

WellView AI Agent and natural-language well data intelligence

Help authorised users explore well, drilling and operational information using natural-language questions, with governance and query verification built into the design.

Ask questions about well data — with controls that matter

WellView contains connected well, job, rig, daily operations and cost records. An AI agent can help technical and business users investigate those records through natural-language questions. Useful answers still depend on accurate data relationships, business definitions, approved permissions and transparent query logic.

JUIA can help assess and develop an AI-enabled interface for WellView-related operational data, including data hosted in approved SQL Server or Snowflake environments. Work is scoped to the customer's security requirements and verified business rules.

What a WellView AI engagement can include

  • Assessment of source data, relationships, reporting grain and user questions.
  • Definition of governed operational terminology such as wells drilled, rig release, NPT and daily costs.
  • Natural-language question flows with reviewable SQL and validation of calculated results.
  • Controlled read-only access to approved datasets and user-based permissions.
  • Integration with approved AI and data infrastructure, including Snowflake where suitable.
  • Evaluation using real test questions, exception cases and documented acceptance criteria.

Examples of business questions

Drilling activity

How many wells had a drilling rig released during a specified period?

Operational efficiency

Which drilling jobs reported the largest NPT over a selected timeframe?

Cost performance

How does actual drilling cost compare with an approved plan for the same job scope?

These are illustrative questions. Query correctness and data availability depend on the customer's data model and business definitions.

Where AI agents often go wrong

Simple-sounding requests can be misleading when tables have one-to-many relationships, a date refers to a daily report rather than the operational event, or multiple jobs exist for a well. Reliable solutions need curated definitions, join logic, access restrictions, testing and clear handling of uncertainty. A convincing answer is not necessarily a correct answer.

Frequently asked questions

Does WellView AI need direct access to the live operational application?

Not necessarily. A solution can be designed against an approved reporting copy, data warehouse or controlled API, depending on security, latency and scope.

Can an AI agent replace WellView reports?

AI-assisted querying can complement established operational reports. Critical metrics and formal reporting still require governed calculations and appropriate human review.

Can it work with Snowflake?

Yes, Snowflake can be an integration option where the required datasets, security permissions and approved AI services are available. The architecture is agreed with the customer.
